13 Reasons why Taylor Swift likes number 13 :D

1. Her Birthday
Taylor Swift was born December 13, 1989. Not only that, but her 13th birthday fell on a Friday, making Friday the 13th like a mini-holiday for the young singer.

2. No Fear of Numerology
If you've ever looked at the track listing for Fearless, you've probably noticed that Taylor kept the album right at 13 songs. Fearless? 13? It's almost like she's taunting the "unlucky" number. Further proof that Taylor has mastered the cursed number: 11 of those 13 tracks spent time on the Billboard Hot 100

3. The Reminder
Just in case Taylor ever forgets her lucky number, she often has a reminder within arm's reach. She's been photographed several times with the number drawn on her hand and has said she usually has it drawn somewhere on her hand during her shows. In the photo below you can see her with ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner on the set of Valentine's Day. Not only does she have the number written on her hand, but Lautner is wearing her lucky number on the back of his work-out tank

4. The Tattoo
If Taylor gets her way (and at this point why wouldn't she?) she'll eventually have her lucky number tattooed somewhere on her body. Last February she was reportedly on the verge of getting the ink done when her parents convinced her to hold off. Keep an eye out for the mark in the future in case she decides she wants that tat anyway.

5. Record Breaker
In 2008 Taylor Swift had six songs debut in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 -- the most hits any artist has ever had debut that high in a single year. She set the record with "White Horse," which debuted at 13.

6. The Twitter Connection
Twitter has no qualms about commandeering existing usernames and handing them over to the actual celebrities with those names. When Taylor set up her account she could have just used her name, but she tacked her favorite number on anyway. You can find her atTwitter.com/taylorswift13.

7. Paying It Forward
Taylor Swift is no stranger to charitable donations, and when she donates, she likes to send a little extra luck to whoever she's helping out. When she performed for the BBC's Children in Need night, she didn't just donate her time. She also handed the organization the US equivalent of $20,600. That's £13,000 in British currency.

8. Lucky 'Teardrops'
When Taylor released "Teardrops on My Guitar" as the second single off her first album in 2007 it peaked at number 33 on the Billboard Hot 100. When she re-released it with a pop remix the universe signaled its approval as the song climbed to the 13th spot on the Hot 100

9. Casting Call
Taylor knew she'd found the right guy to play the romantic lead in her video for "Mine" when she came across footage of Toby Hemingway in The Covenant. He was wearing a T-shirt with the number 13 and Taylor took it as a sign.

10. Awards Winner
Taylor claims that every time she's ever won a big award she was sitting in "either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter.

11. Imma Let You Finish...
OK so maybe 13 isn't always totally awesome for Taylor. It was on September 13th, 2009 thatKanye West infamously interrupted her big win at the MTV Video Music Awards. While that moment was definitely a bummer, put into context it's not so bad. She still took home the award for Best Female Video, and nearly every media outlet jumped to her defense, elevating her to even greater popularity.

12. Consumer Instincts
Taylor even lets the number 13 influence her buying habits. If she spots a 13, she knows something good is on its way and sometimes that something good is... a coffee maker. She recently posted this message and picture on Twitter: "Went to go buy a coffee maker-- saw another 13. Took it as a sign that I purchased the right coffee maker.

13. 13 Hours
Following a massively successful tour for Fearless, Taylor Swift decided to thank her fans for their support by holding a free 13-hour-long meet-and-greet in Nashville on the 13th day of June. From 8 AM to 9 PM Taylor hugged ecstatic fans, posed for pictures and even performed a few songs for the crowd. In the picture below, Taylor shows no signs of exhaustion as she greets two enthusiastic little fans
